Unlimited MC

The perfect marriage of aggressive, passionate delivery and an unparalleled wit, Unlimited MC is not only an emcee, but an entertainer. His lyrics can inspire thought as well as make you laugh, and occasionally make you want to tear the roof off this bitch.

Raised in Kamloops, BC, Limit (short for Unlimited) became interested in all elements of hip-hop at a young age. It was clear early on that he had incredible potential as a graffiti artist, and his freestyling skills soon followed. After linking up with Test One, Asakite and Descreat as a teenager, Limit’s songwriting skills began to blossom. His first crew was born- FDC. In 2004, he began creating more hip-hop with Sicksteen, yet another Kamloops-born rapper/producer that has continued to inspire and develop Unlimited MC’s musical transformation.

Limit moved in ’04, and further polished his graffiti skills on the streets of Vancouver. He focused mainly on art during this time, but his love of hip-hop never wavered. There he befriended others in the Vancouver hip-hop scene, including Snak the Ripper, who helped further inspire and push him to continue rapping. Sickteen and Test One welcomed Limit back to Kamloops the next year, and soon thereafter they released the Subspecies LP.

Always striving to move up and onward with both his music and his life, Limit moved to Seattle in 2005. Limit was introduced to graffiti writer/emcee Charmswon, who introduced him to The Chop Shop, run by his now mentor and producer, J.Lee. J signed Unlimited MC to Audiodose, as they sparked an instant connection and immediately began working together on a group project, Top Left. From this amazing group of six emcees spawned The Warning, Unlimited MC’s second LP. The Warning received praise from local rappers and critics alike, and put Limit on the map as a force to be reckoned with.

From the Chop Shop sprung Ground Zero Studios, a bigger and better recording studio that still serves as home base for AD Records. Limit helped build Ground Zero, well….from the ground up. Since then he released 2 solo records: The Key (2009) and the Capital L EP (2011), and is currently finishing work on the upcoming Rest When I’m Dead LP. He has also featured on several projects, including, most recently: DOD (with Sicksteen and A.D. crew) due in 2012.

Unlimited MC continues to be one of the most hard-working, energetic, and talented performers in the northwest music scene today. He’s a joker, a philosopher, an artist, and an integral part of the Audiodose family. From Kamloops to Seattle he has quite literally blazed a trail.
